In a significant step towards developing water services in Aqaba Governorate and enhancing the efficiency of technical and operational performance, and at the invitation of the Director General of the Aqaba Water Company, Engineer Wael Al-Duwairi, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, in cooperation and coordination with the Aqaba Water Company, conducted a comprehensive survey of the frequency spectrum in the city of Aqaba. This step comes within the framework of supporting and developing the remote reading system for digital household water meters, which is considered one of the most important tools for digital transformation in the water sector, given the accuracy it provides in monitoring consumption and the transparency it offers in providing services to citizens.

In this context, and to further expand the smart meter network of the Aqaba Water Company, and to ensure high-quality communication between the meters and the data center, the company, in cooperation with the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, conducted thorough technical surveys of all frequency channels used within the system. Work is currently underway with all relevant parties to upgrade the network in line with global best practices, utilizing one of the latest and most sophisticated frequency spectrum monitoring systems, overseen by a specialized technical team with internationally accredited qualifications.

A joint meeting was held between the Director General of the Aqaba Water Company, Engineer Wael Al-Duwairi, and representatives of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, Engineers Montaser Al-Ibrahim and Hisham Al-Atoum, in the presence of the company's Information Systems Director, Engineer Sanaa Al-Batayneh, and the Director of the Loss Department, Engineer Mustafa Al-Dardasawi. During the meeting, the results of the frequency survey were reviewed, and future work mechanisms for integrating technical and institutional efforts were discussed to ensure the achievement of the desired goals in developing the digital infrastructure of the water sector in Aqaba.
