The Aqaba Water Company relies on a sophisticated central control system to manage and operate water and sanitation facilities around the clock, through a control center equipped with the latest remote monitoring and control (SCADA) systems.

Main tasks of the center
  • ◉ Continuous monitoring of all wells, reservoirs, stations, and distribution networks.
  • ◉ Automatically turning pumps on and off as needed to distribute water efficiently.
  • ◉ Controlling network pressure and preventing sudden outages.
  • ◉ Early warning of any malfunction, leak, or service interruption.
Technologies and systems used

The integrated SCADA system is used to monitor more than 150 control points, including:

  • ◉ Advanced sensors to measure water flow, pressure, tank levels, and water quality.
  • ◉ Surveillance cameras and real-time data transmission stations.
  • ◉ Archiving and data analysis systems used to make quick, fact-based decisions.
Emergency preparedness and response

The center ensures that emergency cases are monitored and dealt with immediately, through a specialized team working 24/7, and sends field teams to resolve malfunctions or any network defects as quickly as possible.
