1. Water system
  • ◉ Aqaba is supplied with water from 20 wells in the Disi basin + an additional 20 wells in Al-Quwayra and Wadi Araba
  • ◉ Number of electronic meters: 40,000 meters
  • ◉ 100% water coverage and a decrease in losses from 37.3% to 31.5%
2. Networks and reservoirs
  • ◉ Lengths of water networks: 1256 km
  • ◉ Prominent reservoirs: Ninth Reservoir, Railway Reservoir, Main Reservoir, Disah Reservoir, Qaboos Reservoir, Shallala Reservoir
  • ◉ Additional distribution tanks serving various areas
3. Operational improvements
  • ◉ Increasing the number of distribution areas (DMAs) from 17 to 42 areas
  • ◉ Installation of 22 pressure reducers and improvement of water quality
  • ◉ Using the SCADA remote control system
4. Desalination plants
  • ◉ Seawater desalination to serve Kemapco and southern hotels
  • ◉ Additional desalination plants in Rahma, Mathkour, Qatar, and Al-Risha
  • ◉ Establishing a desalination department within the company's administrative structure
5. Sanitation
  • ◉ The exchange service covers 87.8% of Aqaba's population
  • ◉ A modern treatment plant with a capacity of 40,000 m³/day powered by renewable energy
  • ◉ 333 km long drainage networks with an integrated pumping and gravity system
6. Treated water
  • ◉ 94% of treated water is reused in agriculture and industry
  • ◉ Reclaimed water constitutes 26% of the total water demand in Aqaba
  • ◉ An integrated network of dedicated transmission lines and reservoirs
